Total: 82 posts.
Qualification
The prescribed qualification is:
BA in Second Division from a recognised university.
Candidates holding a differently titled qualification should not assume equivalence automatically. If the degree is not clearly the prescribed BA or recognised equivalent, eligibility should be confirmed through PPSC before paying the application fee.
Age limit
- Male: 21 to 30 years + 5 years general relaxation, making the normal upper limit 35.
- Female: 21 to 30 years + 8 years general relaxation, making the normal upper limit 38.
Transgender candidates’ age and gender treatment is applied according to the information recorded on CNIC and PPSC rules.
Gender and domicile
Male, female and transgender candidates can apply. The recruitment is on an all-Punjab basis, so applicants must hold Punjab domicile and claim the correct quota where applicable.
Written test pattern
PPSC has published a one-paper MCQ written test of 100 marks with 90 minutes duration.
Syllabus
The Transport Sub Inspector test is based on general ability. Topics include:
- General Knowledge
- Pakistan Studies
- Current Affairs
- Islamic Studies; General Knowledge for non-Muslim candidates
- Geography
- Basic Mathematics
- English
- Urdu
- Everyday Science
- Basic Computer Studies
Because the paper is 100% general ability, preparation should follow the official PPSC syllabus rather than a transport-engineering syllabus meant for another Transport Department post.
Documents and eligibility checks
Before applying, candidates should confirm:
- CNIC is valid.
- Punjab domicile is available.
- BA result meets Second Division requirement.
- Degree is from a recognised university.
- Age falls within the applicable limit.
- Quota claim is supported by the required documents.
How to apply
- Open the PPSC Jobs page.
- Select Advertisement No. 08/2026.
- Open Case 43-RJ/2026 for Transport Sub Inspector.
- Read the complete eligibility and quota details.
- Generate the fee PSID and pay through a supported PPSC/GoPb payment channel.
- Complete the online application with correct CNIC, domicile and education details.
- Upload the required photo/CNIC information.
- Submit before 3 September 2026.
Selection process
The advertised process begins with the PPSC written examination. Candidates who qualify according to PPSC’s result and shortlisting criteria proceed to the next stage, including scrutiny of documents and interview where applicable.
Academic documents, domicile and quota information must match the information submitted online. A candidate can be rejected at scrutiny even after passing the written test if the prescribed qualification or domicile condition is not met.
Case number and contract terms
The Transport Sub Inspector case is 43-RJ/2026. The appointment is advertised on contract for three years. Candidates should therefore read the service terms as a contract appointment rather than assuming the BS-14 scale automatically means a permanent post.
How the 82 posts are allocated
| Quota | Posts |
|---|---|
| Open Merit | 64 |
| Women | 12 |
| Minorities | 4 |
| Special Persons | 2 |
Reserved-quota applicants must have the supporting documents required by PPSC. The quota selected in the form should match the candidate’s actual eligibility.
Degree completion and equivalence
The BA Second Division qualification must be completed by the closing date. Candidates awaiting a result should not enter the degree as completed unless the result has been officially declared in a form acceptable under PPSC rules.
If the candidate holds a differently named qualification, equivalence should be confirmed rather than assumed. PPSC scrutiny is based on the qualification stated in the advertisement and any officially accepted equivalent.
How the general ability paper should be prepared
The test is not a specialist transport-engineering paper. Preparation should cover the published general-ability areas in proportion to the syllabus. Current affairs and Pakistan Studies need up-to-date preparation, while mathematics, English, Urdu, everyday science and basic computer questions require practice rather than only reading notes.
Candidates should use the official case syllabus because other Transport Department cases in the same advertisement have different qualification-related syllabi.
Scrutiny after the written test
Passing the MCQ test does not establish final eligibility. PPSC may verify the original BA degree/result, domicile, CNIC, age and quota documents before interview or recommendation. Any mismatch between the online form and original documents can affect the candidature.
Online fee and final submission
PPSC uses online fee collection through a generated PSID and supported 1Link/GoPb channels. Paying the fee is only one step; the applicant must return to the online application system and complete final submission before the deadline.
