Case: F.4-153/2026-R.

Applicants must meet the prescribed nursing qualification and professional-registration conditions. The advertised requirement includes Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife status with the applicable Pakistan Nursing Council registration. Male candidates should follow the alternative nursing-specialisation condition stated in the advertisement where midwifery does not apply.

Age: 20–28 years plus five years general relaxation. Posting is at PIMS Islamabad.

Charge Nurse professional test

The FPSC syllabus includes English plus professional nursing subjects. Professional areas include:

  • Basic Medical Sciences.
  • General Nursing.
  • Ward Administration.
  • Patient care/hospitality.
  • Care versus cure in health management.
  • Development of training and instructional material for nursing courses.

Medical Officer BS-17 – 50 posts

Case: F.4-175/2026-R.

Minimum qualification:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification recognised by PMDC.
  • Valid PMDC registration through the closing date is required.

Age: 22–32 years plus five years general relaxation.

Medical Officer quota

The 50 Medical Officer posts are distributed among Merit, Punjab, Sindh Rural, Sindh Urban, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Ex-FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK, including the women/minority allocations shown in the FPSC case.

Principal Technician BS-17 – 5 posts

Principal Technician vacancies are advertised in five relevant categories:

  • Cardiology
  • General
  • Medical Store
  • Operation Theatre
  • Pathology

The qualification is a Second Class / Grade C Master’s or Bachelor degree representing 16 years of education in the relevant discipline, or another qualification accepted under the case requirements.

Age: 20–30 years plus five years general relaxation. Candidates must clearly apply for the relevant category and should follow the separate application/fee requirement where applicable.

Professor BS-20 – 6 posts

The six Professor positions are in specialist medical fields including:

  • Cardiac Surgery
  • Dermatology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Neonatology
  • Paediatric Surgery
  • Pulmonology

Professor eligibility is specialist and includes the prescribed postgraduate medical qualification, professional registration and senior teaching/clinical experience stated by FPSC for each category. Applicants should use the exact category requirement rather than applying on MBBS alone.

Professional registration

For PIMS clinical posts, professional registration is a core eligibility issue. Medical Officer applicants must have valid PMDC registration through the closing date. Nursing applicants must meet the nursing registration condition shown in the advertisement.

An expired registration can affect eligibility even when the academic degree is otherwise correct.

How to apply

  1. Visit the FPSC General Recruitment page.
  2. Open Advertisement No. 03/2026.
  3. Select the PIMS case and category.
  4. Confirm qualification, registration, age and quota.
  5. Pay the prescribed FPSC fee.
  6. Complete the online application.
  7. Submit before 31 August 2026.

Documents to keep ready

  • CNIC.
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Medical, nursing or technical degree and transcripts.
  • Valid PMDC/PNC or applicable professional registration.
  • Experience certificates for senior/specialist posts.
  • Postgraduate qualification and training documents for Professor categories.
  • NOC where required for government employees.

Professor specialties

The six Professor BS-20 vacancies are one each in the advertised specialist categories:

  • Cardiac Surgery
  • Dermatology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Neonatology
  • Paediatric Surgery
  • Pulmonology

These are senior specialist posts. Applicants must satisfy the exact postgraduate qualification, professional-registration and experience requirements for the chosen specialty. A general MBBS qualification alone is not sufficient for Professor BS-20.

Principal Technician categories

The five Principal Technician BS-17 vacancies cover Cardiology, General, Medical Store, Operation Theatre and Pathology. Candidates should apply under the relevant technical discipline because FPSC states that separate category identification is required.

Medical Officer quota distribution

The 50 Medical Officer vacancies include Merit and provincial/regional quotas. The published distribution includes Punjab, Sindh Rural, Sindh Urban, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Ex-FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK, with women/minority reservations inside specified provincial shares.

The applicant’s domicile must support the quota claimed in the online form.

Medical Officer test areas

The current FPSC syllabus for PIMS Medical Officer includes English plus professional questions from:

  • Core MBBS subjects.
  • Government of Pakistan health policies.
  • Care versus cure in health management.
  • Major challenges facing Pakistan’s health sector.

Charge Nurse eligibility check

Charge Nurse applicants should make sure both academic nursing credentials and professional registration are current. Where the advertisement provides an alternative requirement for male nurses in place of midwifery, the applicant should follow that exact condition and not substitute an unrelated course.

Closing-date registration rule

For Medical Officer, valid PMDC registration is required up to the closing date. This means an applicant whose registration expires before the deadline should resolve the registration issue rather than assuming it can be renewed after selection.

Separate application categories

Where FPSC lists categories within Principal Technician or Professor, candidates must select the correct specialty. Applying under an incorrect category can make the application ineligible even when the applicant is qualified in another medical or technical field.

Closing date

The current application deadline for these PIMS cases is 31 August 2026.
