The CM Punjab Asaan Karobar Card is an interest-free business financing facility for small entrepreneurs in Punjab. It provides a digital SME card with an approved limit of up to Rs 1 million, allowing eligible business owners and prospective entrepreneurs to meet business-related expenses without paying borrower markup.
The Punjab government continued to identify the Asaan Karobar Card as one of its SME-support initiatives during 2026. Applicants should still check the official application portal before starting because application intake and processing availability can change over time.

The official Punjab and Punjab Small Industries Corporation information lists a loan limit of up to Rs 1 million.
- Maximum limit: Up to Rs 1,000,000.
- Borrower markup: 0%.
- Tenure: 3 years.
- Grace period: 3 months.
- Repayment: 33 monthly instalments after the three-month grace period, according to the PSIC scheme information.
The approved amount depends on the scheme’s assessment and verification process. Applying for Rs 1 million does not by itself guarantee that the full amount will be approved.
Who can apply for the Asaan Karobar Card?
The official eligibility information includes the following core conditions:
- Applicant age must be at least 21 years and not more than 57 years.
- The applicant must be a Pakistani national and resident of Punjab according to a valid CNIC.
- The existing or proposed business must be located in Punjab.
- The applicant must have a valid CNIC according to NADRA records.
- The mobile number used in the application must be registered in the applicant’s own name.
- The application is subject to digital identity, credit and business verification.
Is the card only for existing businesses?
No. The official scheme information refers to both existing and prospective small entrepreneurs. This means a person planning to start a business may also fall within the intended audience, subject to the scheme’s verification and assessment requirements.
A prospective business applicant should still have a realistic business idea, expected costs and a clear explanation of how the financing will be used.
What can the Asaan Karobar Card be used for?
The facility is designed for business-related spending. The Punjab government says funds can be used through digital channels such as mobile applications and point-of-sale transactions.
Permitted uses can include business purchases, payments to suppliers and other legitimate operational expenses. The official Punjab page also states that cash withdrawal of up to 25% of the approved limit is available for miscellaneous business purposes.
The card should not be treated as unrestricted personal cash. Applicants should keep business and personal spending separate because the facility is intended to finance business activity.
Processing fee and annual card fee
There are charges applicants should understand even though borrower markup is 0%:
- Application processing fee: Rs 500, non-refundable.
- Annual card fee: Rs 25,000 plus FED, recovered from the approved limit according to the official Punjab scheme page.
Applicants should factor these charges into their expected usable limit instead of assuming that every rupee of the sanctioned limit will be available for spending.
How to apply online
Applications are submitted digitally through the Punjab government’s PITB-supported portal.
- Open the official Asaan Karobar Card application portal.
- Register using the applicant’s own CNIC and mobile number.
- Complete personal and contact information.
- Enter details of the existing or proposed business in Punjab.
- Provide the financial and business information requested by the form.
- Generate and pay the non-refundable Rs 500 processing fee where instructed.
- Review the application carefully before final submission.
- Keep the registered mobile number active for verification and status messages.
What happens after the application?
The scheme uses digital verification of applicant information, including CNIC, mobile ownership, creditworthiness and business details. Approval is therefore not automatic after paying the application fee.
If the application passes the required checks and financing is approved, the facility is provided through the scheme’s banking/card arrangement. Applicants should follow only the instructions received through the official portal or participating bank.
How does repayment work?
PSIC lists a three-year loan tenure with a three-month grace period and 33 monthly instalments after the grace period. Borrowers should pay according to the repayment schedule communicated with their approved facility.
Because a digital business card is involved, card usage, billing and payment instructions should be read carefully when the card is issued. Failure to make required payments can affect the borrower’s credit history and future access to financing.
Important points before applying
- Use a mobile SIM registered in your own name.
- Make sure your CNIC information is current.
- Prepare realistic business details instead of inflated sales figures.
- Understand that 0% markup does not mean there are no fees at all.
- Use the facility for legitimate business expenses.
- Do not pay an agent who promises guaranteed approval.
Is there a fixed closing date?
The official scheme information reviewed for this guide does not publish a single universal closing date on the main information pages. Application availability should therefore be checked directly on the official portal.
If the portal temporarily stops accepting new registrations, that should not be interpreted as permanent closure unless the Punjab government announces it.
