Route 2:
- Second Class / Grade C Bachelor’s degree representing 14 years of education; and

A Bachelor’s applicant using the 14-year route must satisfy the experience requirement. The 16-year Master’s route should be assessed according to the exact wording of the FPSC case.

Superintendent quota
The 22 vacancies are distributed across Merit and regional quotas including Punjab, Sindh Rural, Sindh Urban, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Ex-FATA, with women/minority allocations included where stated.

Assistant Director Legal quota
The 12 Assistant Director Legal vacancies are distributed across provincial/regional quotas, including Punjab, Sindh Rural, Sindh Urban, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Ex-FATA, with women/minority allocations in specified shares.
Applicants must claim the quota supported by their domicile and other required documents.
What counts as legal experience?
The Assistant Director Legal case requires two years of post-qualification experience in legal practice, prosecution or legal-field work. The experience record should identify the legal nature of duties and should cover the required period after completion of the LLB.
General administrative employment should not be presented as legal experience unless the duties genuinely satisfy the advertised requirement.
Superintendent quota distribution
The 22 Superintendent posts include:
- Merit – 2
- Punjab – 11
- Sindh Rural – 2
- Sindh Urban – 2
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 3
- Balochistan – 1
- Ex-FATA – 1
Women and minority reservations are included within the specified provincial shares.
Understanding the Superintendent education routes
A candidate with a 16-year Second Class / Grade C Master’s qualification can use the first route stated in the case. A candidate relying on a 14-year Bachelor’s qualification must also prove two years of post-qualification Accounts or Administration experience.
Applicants should not mix the two routes—for example, a 14-year Bachelor’s degree without the required experience does not become eligible simply because the candidate has unrelated employment.
Posting and job status
The FIA cases are temporary, likely to become permanent, and the place of posting is anywhere in Pakistan. Candidates should therefore be prepared for federal posting outside their home district or province.
FPSC application review
Before final submission, check the exact case number, degree result, experience dates, domicile and age. FPSC scrutiny is based on the published case requirements, and eligibility can be rejected later if the online information is not supported by original documents.
Assistant Director Legal quota distribution
The 12 Assistant Director Legal posts are distributed across regional quotas. Published case details include Punjab 6, Sindh Rural 2, Sindh Urban 1, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2 and Ex-FATA 1, with women/minority reservations inside specified shares.
Superintendent quota distribution
| Quota | Posts |
|---|---|
| Merit | 2 |
| Punjab | 11 |
| Sindh Rural | 2 |
| Sindh Urban | 2 |
| Khyber Pakhtunkhwa | 3 |
| Balochistan | 1 |
| Ex-FATA | 1 |
Experience evidence for both FIA cases
Experience should be supported by proper certificates showing the employer, position, dates and nature of work. Assistant Director Legal applicants need legal practice/prosecution/legal-field experience after LLB. Superintendent applicants using the 14-year Bachelor’s route need Accounts or Administration experience after the qualifying degree.
Employment in an unrelated field should not be used to satisfy a post-qualification experience condition merely because the total number of working years is sufficient.
FPSC scrutiny and test preparation
Assistant Director Legal candidates should prepare the current professional syllabus, including criminal procedure, evidence law, Pakistan Penal Code, anti-money-laundering law, cyber security and FIA law. Superintendent applicants should use the syllabus published for Case F.4-155/2026-R rather than assuming the legal syllabus applies to both posts.
After the test, FPSC can scrutinise the original degree, experience, domicile and age documents before interview. Candidates should make sure the online application is fully supported by original records.
Closing date
Applications for both FIA cases close on 31 August 2026.
